Donald E. Hill
Shareholder
Donald E. Hill serves as President of the law firm and
is a senior member of the Labor and Employment Law practice.
For three decades, Mr. Hill has represented management in employment law
and business matters. Mr. Hill delivers comprehensive, practical advice on
issues of compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, federal and state
discrimination laws, the Family and Medical Leave Act, unemployment compensation,
and plant-closing and layoff laws. He counsels clients on the improvement
of employer-employee relations, and on drafting and interpreting personnel
policies, employee handbooks, and employment forms and agreements.
Mr. Hill
has represented management in administrative hearings, and in responding
to employee claims of unlawful discrimination, minimum wage and overtime,
and unemployment compensation. Mr. Hill often presents seminars to public
and private employers and professional organizations on employment law matters.
He has also authored chapters for the Kansas Bar Association Employment Law
Handbook.
Mr. Hill provides a wide range of representation in incorporation of for-profit
and non-profit corporations, formation of limited liability companies and
limited liability partnerships, buy-sell agreements, stock and asset sales
agreements, business contracts, and corporate dissolutions.
Mr. Hill also leads our estate planning practice, to which he brings many
years of experience in estate planning.
Mr. Hill earned his Bachelor of Science Degree (magna
cum laude) from Greenville
College, Greenville, Illinois, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Washburn
University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas.
Mr. Hill is included in the Chambers Leading Lawyers in the USA and Kansas “Super
Lawyers.” He has been designated as one of “The Best Lawyers
in America” in the employment law area.
Mr. Hill is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Wichita Bar Association,
and the Christian Legal Society.
