Jeffrey L. Syrios
Special Counsel
Jeffrey L. Syrios leads the firm's criminal practice and is a member of the general business, real estate and workers' compensation practices of the firm.
He currently serves as a Municipal Court Judge in the cities of Clearwater, Kansas and Douglass, Kansas. Additionally, he is the City Prosecutor for the City of Rose Hill, Kansas. He has practiced as a public defender in Wichita Municipal Court since 1991. He has 18 years experience practicing criminal law from the three perspectives of Judge, Prosecutor and Defense. He routinely tries and presides over cases from all three disciplines. The skills and experience he has acquired from practicing in these different capacities provide a valuable perspective in his representation of the accused.
Mr. Syrios has previously served as a Workers' Compensation Special Administrative
Law Judge for the State of Kansas. He has represented clients in the area
of personal injury litigation and has tried to a jury complex medical negligence
cases in both State and Federal Court.
His experience in real estate comes not only from representing landlords and developers, but also as a commercial and residential investment property owner. He has previously held a REALTOR®
license (currently on inactive status), and presently serves on the City of Andover, Kansas Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
Mr. Syrios received his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas and graduated in 1987 with Dean's Honors from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas.
Mr. Syrios writes for various publications and has contributed to the Kansas
Bar Association Criminal Law Handbook.
Mr. Syrios is a member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar Association, Association of Credit and Collection Professionals and the Christian Legal Society.
